The Painter's Palette (rug) is a transformation of a useful tool, used by an artist to create paintings, into a large and intricate handmade rug. Through a radical change in proportions, atelier lachaert dhanis achieves a stunning effect that reinforces the importance of the palette and celebrates its nature. 

This carpet is the result of a collaboration with the talented textile artisan Vera Vermeersch, who has mastered the technique of hand tufting at the highest level. The wool and silk fibres are hand-stitched, dyed and all have different lengths, giving the impression of thick sculptural layers of paint. 

This abundance of colour and texture creates an amazing landscape, drawing the viewer closer and arousing a sensual desire to touch the piece. 

The transformation the object undergoes is interesting, as it romanticises the art of fine painting, but also evokes craft, fashion, and decorative connotations. The humble tool becomes undeniably precious by all aspects: size, technique, materials, but also the extraordinary attention to detail.
